2009 Associations Sustaining Livable Communities Conference

Prince George’s County, Maryland - Delegate Aisha Braveboy of the 25^th District has formally announced that the 2009 Conference Associations Sustaining Livable Communities Conference will be held on May 30, 2009 at the Prince George’s County Sports and Learning complex, conveniently located at 8001 Sheriff Road, Landover, MD 20785. This annual event, hosted by Ms. Aisha Braveboy is one of the most important events in the community association industry. This year’s event will have a unique opportunity for common ownership communities as well as federal, state, county and municipality’s and their officials to spend a full day learning and collaborating with those who make the decisions in the county and work exclusively in the industry. Ms. Braveboy’s focus will be on the continued need for change and the practical ways to increase success within the community association industry. This year’s partners in facilitating this event are the Prince George’s County Government, Legacy Investment and Management, and the Olde Mill Foundation. They will all be working exclusively and directly with delegate Aisha Braveboy and the COC (Common Ownership Commission). At this time, confirmed conference guest speakers include Jack B. Johnson, County Executive; Roberto Hilton, Acting Police Chief; Kyndall Francis, Principal and CEO of Legacy Investment and Management; Douglas Gansler, Maryland Attorney General; Samuel J. Parker, Jr., Chairman of the Prince George’s County MNCPPC Board; and construction defects attorney, Nick Cowie of Cowie and Mott. It is encouraged that all Maryland, DC and Virginia residents, homeowners and members of community associations attend this all important event.

In November 2008, Runners, Inc. launched a random drawing contest for email referrals. The winner of the $300 Chicken Out card for the most referrals was Kyndall Francis, CEO of Legacy Investment and Management, LLC. In the spirit of the holiday season, Kyndall donated his winnings to a needy family of six and set an example to his children about the true meaning of Christmas. Kyndall's heartfelt message:

The amount of people that believe in our business model has pushed us to the forefront of community management companies. This wouldn't have been possible without others. As a firm, we wanted to "pay it forward" by giving back to someone less fortunate. With the assistance of Delegate Aisha Braveboy, at 7:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, a family of six was located. Sadly, both parents had been laid off right before the holidays, but we were able to make a difference in their lives, even if just for a few days. We dropped off the food in person and they enjoyed a wonderful Chicken Out holiday dinner (with plenty of leftovers), gifts, and a vacation prize package courtesy of my firm. Keeping the wonderful gift awarded by Runners, Inc. wasn't even a consideration! This was the best Christmas gift I could have received - the opportunity to help some else."

Maryland - The leading community association orientated talk show on radio “Community Concepts” will be moving to a new time slot and station, from 2:30 on Tuesdays on A.M. WNAV to Sunday afternoons at 12:00 p.m. on Radio One’s WOLB 1010 A.M. The move, in part due to the high demands of the listening audience, heralds a more wide open structure, which will see Host Kyndall Francis run from 18 minutes of talk time to a full 30 minutes.

 Kyndall Francis  host, CEO, and Author of the upcoming book, “Association Management in the African American Community” told Radio One’s Keith Baldwin, the move was exciting because of its potential to reach a larger audience and new listeners.
